We are pleased to announce that we have opened registration for the 2026 Project WILD Youth Mountain Bike Program. This year, thanks to a grant from the Ashland County Community Foundation and our continued support from the Norma Foundation, we are pleased to offer this summer program for kids in our community for just $15! This cost includes all the fees from the registration site, your t-shirts, and snacks at the ride practices.
In addition to the decreased cost, we’ve changed up the ride days and times to be Saturday mornings at 9:00-10:30am. Kids should check in beginning at 8:30am so we are ready to ride at 9am sharp!
We are also going to periodically switch up the ride locations, with half of our rides taking place at our normal spot located at Brookside West, and the other half will be at parks around the city such as Freer Field or TK Park (near Byers Woods, across from Spring Meadow Vet. Clinic).
The scheduled ride days are:
June 20th, June 27th, July 11, July 18th, July 25th, and August 1st is our finale, (finale location TBD). All ride days start at 9am.
Finally, we are looking for volunteers to help keep this program going! If you have a passion for riding and for young people, please consider volunteering. We do not require you to attend every date if you are a volunteer, but it helps if you can commit to several days in advance for us. Email me if you want to volunteer and I’ll make sure we add a shirt for you!
The registration will stay open through the first practice on June 20th. We will deliver the t-shirts on the second or third practice depending on how quickly our printer can accommodate the order following registration closing. You can purchase an extra shirt… rumor is that we might have some camo on them this year…
That’s all for now! See you on the trails!
Sincerely,
Tony Bunt
Project WILD Program Director
